Before I start, if you want to read about my journey from Ahmedabad to Singapore and my experience at Ahmedabad Airport, make sure to read Part 1. Part 2 is going to be about my experience in the SilverKris lounge at Singapore Changi and flying the longest flight in the world to New York JFK.
SilverKris Lounge in Singapore

The SilverKris lounge is located in terminal 3 at Singapore Changi International Airport. I've been to several lounges around the world, but I believe this is so far the best lounge I've been to with Al-Mourjan lounge in Doha coming at close second. The lounge has a open area through which u can spot the airplane traffic at Changi airport, a buffet area and a sitting area joined with the buffet area.
I was seated in the sitting area, which along with the rest of the lounge was crowded. Since I was a bit hungry, I decided to get some food from the buffet which had a good selection of Asian and western options.
.After getting myself some breakfast, I decided to take a shower in the shower area. The shower area here at the SilverKris lounge is always clean and stacked with all the essentials like shaving kit etc. Bonus is the ultra-modern toilet stacked with different mods!
After taking a shower, I strolled around the lounge and also saw a silent area for all you workaholics and sleepyheads!
After successfully wasting 5 hours in the lounge, it was time to head to gate A15 to board SQ24 to New York which also happens to be the world's longest flight!
The Flight
28th August 2023
Singapore Airlines flight 24
Singapore Changi (SIN)
to New York JFK (JFK)
9V-SGD
Seat 25A
18 hours 13 minutes
I arrived at gate A15 just at the nick of time, I rushed towards the gate as usually I'm never late to flights. Anyways, I completed my security check and instantly headed to board the plane.

Today's flight will be operated by 9V-SGD, a 4.9-year-old A350-941 delivered to Singapore Airlines in 2018. However, let me tell you that this is no ordinary A350, this is a specially built A350's ULR variant which is specifically built to do missions like Singapore to New York, Newark and Los Angeles. The aircraft is configured in a sparse 67 Business and 94 Premium economy seats.

My seat for today's mammoth 18-hour flight was 25A, a window seat in the main business class cabin. Some Avgeek aren't the biggest fan of this style of seat however, I absolutely love it. Not only the seat is absolutely wide. It's also extremely comfortable when in bed mode. Although the sleeping angle may feel a little odd for taller people alike me, it won't be much of an issue for shorter folks. Waiting on the seat for me was a pair of headphones on the side along with the charging port. Inside the side compartment was a bottle of water. Inside the literature pocket was the menu, magazine, the safety card and a air sickness bag. The seat also contained a storage near the TV and also a mirror!
Pre departure drink was choice of Juice, Champaigne and a wine which I selected.
On the gate, I spotted a very unique livery, a China Airlines A350 with the Airbus Carbon livery.

B-18918 in the special carbon livery headed off to Taipei later in the day as CI754.
We pushed back around 11:55 and in the meantime, I started watching Devil's Advocate on the krisworld system starring Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino. The flight options, although offering a lot of choices in language, lacks in quantity of movies considering the choice was same as my Ahmedabad flight and this flight is the longest in the world.

At around 12:25PM, we departed out of Singapore starting our massive journey onwards to the Big Apple.

See you later, Singapore!
Within an hour, the meal service had commenced however since I was extremely deprived of sleep, I decided to snooze off. Once the bed is made, a duvet, blanket and 2 additional pillows are also revealed. Also worth noting is the fact that the seat gets fully flat manually by pulling the latch and dropping the seat which reminded me of old SUVs! However, the bed was extremely wide and comfortable.

I woke up after 3-4 hours of siesta to notice that the cabin lights were dimmed as most of the passengers were falling asleep. I also noticed a pair of slippers, socks and an eye mask kept by the crew, Thank you SQ :)
I decided to go to the galley and fetch some snacks. I took a packet of chips, a granola bar and a Kit Kat which paired well with my movie which I resumed.
I had already requested the crew member to keep my meal before sleeping, so I requested for my meal which they politely obliged.
Here are some snippets from the menu.
First, I was served a smoked salmon canpers which was ok considering I'm not the biggest fan of raw fish. Additionally, I was also served 2 pieces of garlic bread and 1 piece of multigrain bread which is a touch I greatly appreciate. And of course, Apple bliss always :)

For the main dish, I had already ordered the Singaporean Nasi Biriyani from the book the cook menu which was pretty good and flavorful. I skipped on the dessert this time around.

I decided to use the loo which was pretty clean considering we were already a few hours into the flight. The Flight crew does a great job to ensure that the toilets are clean during the duration of the flight.
After my meal and completing my movie, I decided to get some more sleep cuz the first round wasn't enough :)
Around this time, we were cruising over the night skies of Japan.

The cabin before I slept.
I woke up after a few more hours of sleep when the second meal was being served. We started with the famous Chicken Satay which I relished as I absolutely love chicken satay. I also started watching Sherlock Holmes starring Robert Downey Jr who also happens to be one of my favorite actors.

Later on, I was served a shrimp salad with of course, more garlic bread!

After which I went with a Moonlight Hor Fun with was rice noodles with egg, fish and a variety of ingredients. Although not the most visually appealing dish, it was great since it was the first time, I had tried something like this.

For dessert, I chose the chocolate brownie which was absolutely fantastic.

Around this time, the sun had rose and we were nearing Alaska.

In a rather excellent flight, the amenity kit was a bit of a disappointment as it was extremely lackluster. Available only on request, it only consisted of a lip balm, moisturizer and face mist. If SQ is lacking somewhere, it is this part.
The crew, what can one say the level of hospitality and warmth that Singapore Airlines provides to its customers. The crew was absolutely fantastic with the service never feeling forced at any point of the flight. Considering this is the world's longest flight, the crew at any point of the flight never looked tired and was happy to serve.
After watching yet another film (Which I do not recommend watching at all) and successfully wasting the rest of the flight! the pilot announced that we will start our decent at JFK airport.

After catching an extraordinary view of the Manhattan skyline, we landed at a very cloudy JFK airport at around 6:45pm after completing almost 18 hours of flying!

Although the line for immigration was long, it did not take much time for me since I'm a US citizen. Surprisingly, my bags also arrived on time. After collecting my bags, I took an uber heading straight to New Jersey.
Final thought
Well, well, where should I get started. Although this flight is the world's longest, Singapore Airlines proves itself yet again as the best airline in the world. The Cabin was in an absolutely great condition and the toilets were maintained well throughout the flight. Although the food options felt restrictive for someone like me who avoids red meat, the food was absolutely delicious and extremely filling. How can forget the absolutely exceptional chocolate brownie! However, the best part of the flight was absolutely the crew which was not only professional but also extremely kind and warm. As mentioned earlier, the service never felt forced. However, I also felt there was slight room for improvement. The Ife although good, I felt did not have a lot of choices in movies considering it's an 18-hour flight and the amenity kits may also be improved, Other than that and the great price I paid for this flight, it was a solid flight and a great option if you want to travel from India to the USA. This is Avgeek Parikh signing off until next time :)
